I have been to the red lantern several times and every time it is a pleasant experience the staff are very hospitable and attentive to your needs and the food is excellent by far one of the better Chinese restaurants i have visited.
There is always a good atmosphere in the red lantern if you are going out with the lads for perhaps a works do or a birthday they will situate you somewhere that will not disturb the other people so you don't feel like you have to be quiet and not be able to enjoy yourself, they also make a big deal if it is your birthday which is always amusing, they bring you out either a small cake or a free shot of your choice obviously depending on age.
I would also recommend the red lantern for take aways as the delivery costs are next to nothing and always arrive piping hot.
overall i think the red lantern is a good value for money restaurant the prices aren't particularly cheap but then you have to pay for good food i would recommend mainly for families and groups of people as it is more of a fun atmosphere than a romantic one.

risa is a good night out drinks are fairly expensive on a saturday night but wednesday nights quad vods for 4 quid wich you cant go wrong with decent music mainly r n b.
