X Nitro RC was formed in April 2009 i would like to call myself a hobby enthusiast, my name is Richard Metcalfe. I started my working life in a couple of dead end jobs, never thinking I could achieve much more. My ambitions and goals in life were very faded.

After being made redundant at the age of 19 in my 3rd job from leaving school at the age of 16 it was very easy for me to fall into the routine of singing on for job seekers. After being on job seekers for around 3 weeks I couldn't stand it much more, and decided to do something positive with my life. I was given the contact details of the Princes Trust from a local councillor and i went on the enterprise program.

This was a program for people wanting to start their own business but needing that little extra support along the way. RC models have been a strong hobby of mine since I was 8 years old and this was my opportunity to turn my dream into a reality.

After being on the program for 1 month I had completed my business plan and marketing plan and received my business loan and mentor from the trust, my business X Nitro RC was born. Ever since it has grown from strength to strength thanks to the support of my customers, friends, family and of course the Princes Trust.

As you will see at the top of this page the business performance was picked up by the trust and ITV were interested in filming me for there prime time 6pm ITV Central news. When dealing with myself or any of my colleagues you will be dealing with 1st hand enthusiasts in the industry like myself passionate and friendly.
