Expensive unless you know the bar staff. Door staff can be picky/arkward and the clientèle is somewhat 'snobby' ' wannabes' after a certain hour! BUT - they always have really good food and good service. If you go, make sure its early on when nice and relaxed atmosphere.

I love this place - not so much just for drinking - but more for really great food and a nice bottle of wine.  They have a brilliant seasonal menu, which includes a 'home comforts' section.  The tuna is awesome!  We have eaten here about 30 times and sat in the lounge and the dining room and the food, service and atmosphere has been consistently great.  They have regular offers on at the moment, particularly if you visit during the week.  We have also spent new years eve here and valentines day and on both the atmosphere was excellent.

The 1st 2/3 years The Living Room opened was by far "the glory years" it was the best bar in Manchester bar non. The bar team was outstanding and it really was 'the' place to drink in town. But times move on and so do bar staff / locals. I guess these days its just lost that nostalgic edge for me. Although its still a consistently good bar, its just not what it used to be. Worth a visit if you've never been before.
