Striclty speaking from the food side as Al has covered the clothing in his review I would say it is one of the most relaxed and different dining experiences in Town.
You can choose your counter and sit around the sides of them, International (Curries, Chinese etc), Yo Sushi!, Rice, Salt beef Bar and the other one serving traditional lunches and salads (forgot the name!)
It's great sitting in and watching people busy around shopping whilst you eat and have a glass (or bottle) of wine!
A great place to people watch and prices are reasonable - Also the wine store down their has some great and unusual choices that can get pricey.

I do love my upmarket department stores and Selfridges is the best in Manchester. If only i could live the lifestyle that the price tags command!!! Still its cool to come in once in a while and treat yourself. The selection of men's clothing is good they always have something i want, be it Comme Des Gracons or Dsquared. The street-wear is also cool and not as expensive as the high end designer stuff.
The food hall downstairs is good as well.
