Chefs prepare the meals infront of you and create a pre-meal buzz.
You sit watching potatoes being cooked on a hotplate before being thrown at you to catch in your mouth. This creates a bit of excitement yet the remainder of the meal is disappointing and over priced.
I can understand why large drinking parties would miss the obvious, however the Sapporo is one better avoided. If you want a great Japanese meal, try the Teppanyaki restaurant in Chinatown.

Went here for a friends birthday not too long back. Its was a great restaurant for a group with chefs cooking in-front of you which brings a good entertainment value. Unfortunately the food was not amazing, just average. The main downside was the price. Quite an expensive restaurant.
So I'd say good for groups and not much else.
